I’ve been looking at the photos and reading the tributes to Steven Ross. I wish I had got to know better the thoughtful, friendly and kind man described and appreciated by his friends and neighbours. He was my nephew, the baby I comforted in Edinburgh and the happy wee boy I played with in Vancouver when I was working in Victoria. Since then I kept up in a general way through our family, and chatted with him at fleeting family events. I remember the lovely speech he made at Tom’s 60th birthday party; it was just right, light hearted yet full of affection and admiration for his father. Gone too soon, Steven, but always remembered.
